Personally, this is something that I thought would have been a key plot point for Mass Effect 3, but why wait when you can milk "premium" DLC! BioWare has unveiled the next Mass Effect 2 DLC, entitled "Lair of the Shadow Broker."
No release date or cost as of yet, but Shepard returns to assist Liara in confronting this dangerous information broker. Three screenshots of the DLC are available here.
Seeing as how this plot point is being developed (and possibly resolved) in DLC, which means I likely won't experience it since I'm not a fan of DLC add-ons, I'm glad I dumped Liara for Tali since Liara's clearly all about exploitation now. There, I said it. I feel better.
